At Leuben Empowerment and Development Foundation International, we believe that culture is more than heritage—it is a powerful tool for economic development and community transformation. Our Cultural Diversity for Income Program is designed to identify, nurture, and showcase traditional talents while creating income-generating opportunities for youth and women.
Promote cultural talent development and self-reliance
Use traditional art forms for social sensitization and behavior change
Create employment opportunities through cultural art performance groups
Preserve and celebrate Uganda’s diverse cultural identity
We identify gifted individuals and:
Organize them into structured cultural art troupes
Provide training in music, drama, dance, poetry, and traditional skits
Equip them with costumes, instruments, and skills for professional performance
We aim to organize regular cultural festivals where:
Groups perform at public functions, schools, health campaigns, and church events
Messages on health, environment, peace, and development are delivered through creative performances
Local artisans and performers earn income and gain recognition
Through creative expression, we:
Raise awareness on critical social issues such as HIV/AIDS, environmental conservation, mental health, and land rights
Promote unity in diversity and foster social cohesion
Culture is a rich, untapped resource with the power to:
Empower communities
Create jobs and livelihoods
Preserve identity and values
Drive social change through storytelling
“When culture meets creativity, communities thrive.”
